I'm not paying one cent for new numberplates - so sod off.

According to an article on IOL, Gautengers can expect new numberplates... smart number plates. I don't mind that these numberplates will basically invade my right to privacy of where I travel and when, but what I do mind is that I will have to fork out money for it - every 5 years.
"The registration plates would be renewed every five years. "Motorists who want to retain their current registration number will be allowed to do so, but they will have to go through a renewal exercise so that their registration plates are manufactured within the new specifications," Nhlapo said. "

I'm sorry to have to be the one to say this, but stop squeezing already tightly squeezed consumers. I don't care that you will give us ample time to get new numberplates. "He added that when the changeover begins, vehicle owners would receive sufficient notification." I do however care that now I will have to fork out money for it every five years and actually drive to a place to get new numberplates.

When I lived in Transvaal/Northern Province/Limpopo I have gone through the exercise of idiots not being able to decide on a T/N/L... I had to get new numberplates everytime somebody had an ant in his panties.
