Wild Marloth Park
Marloth Park is a holiday town next to the Crocodile River and on the other side of the river is the Kruger National Park. Some of the houses also overlook another game park – Lionspruit, where you can see the big four. Lionspruit charges R180.00 per person or R120.00 per person for an afternoon drive, but you have to bring your own snacks and drinks.

We for you South Africa!
South Africa made headlines for the last 50 odd years. Firstly because of the racial policies of the apartheid government, where apparently all whites dominated all other races and then in 1994 when the first democratic elections were held and won by the ANC. The “new South Africa” has still not settled after 11 years.

Meropa Casino has a variety of slot machines, card tables, and roulette wheels available from 5c to R50. The entrance to the casino is free and drinks are inexpensive in relation to other places in Polokwane especially if you buy an alcoholic beverage. The casino is open 24 hours a day.
If you get tired of gambling you can also have something to eat at Squires. Here you can enjoy a delicious meal while watching other people gambling their money away. This is not the only restaurant to choose from at the Casino.

Nashua Mobile's customer service sucks!
I hope that this post is widely read and that people will refrain from signing with Nashua Mobile as they clearly don't know or understand the meaning of customer service!
Now this saga has been continuing for more than a month now. I have tried phoning and emailing - no luck. Then I posted it on www.hellopeter.com... I got a response (if you can call it that). The guy phoned me... asked hat my complained is (21 August) and said he will investigate and get back to me in the same week.
Ok - so today is a new week and I have had no feedback, no phonecall, no email. I still have a hsdpa interface that shows me the correct data usage and a service provider that sucks.
Nashua Mobile - you are the worst service provider I have ever had the displeasure to have a contract with. I will be investigating on what else I can do - is there still something like a consumer court?

Just Nuisance - Simon's Town
Have you ever heard about Just Nuisance – a Great Dane that was buried with full military honours, well this is where he lived. He was a friend to the sailors stationed at Simon's Town and the only dog ever to be enlisted in the Royal Navy. He accompanied them by train to the City and back, he spent many an evening in city pubs, ensuring that the sailors got back to Simon's Town safely. Hardened sailors wept when he died as a result of injuries sustained when he fell off the back of a vehicle. He is the pride and joy of Simon's Town!

Where there’s a fire, there is a Braai (in South Africa that is)
A braai is a social gathering for friends and family - a tradition that will never die as it's in the blood of every South African. It's the one thing South Africans can do that no other nation in the world does as well.
Hot summers, mild winters or rainy days will never diminish the quantity of braaivleis (BBQ) fires being lit around South Africa. South Africans love their braais and pap - preferably before or after a rugby match. read more

Gordon’s Bay is situated right on the Cape Peninsula with the cold Atlantic ocean and white beaches – not too far from Cape Town.
Planning a holiday in Cape Town & surrounding areas is a must have experience.
Finally landing at Cape Town International and making your way to your booked accommodation the ultimate.
Standing on the balcony trying to breathe in the fresh air, a breeze carrying the ocean air into the house, salty and cool. You start to relax and realize that the holiday of a lifetime is about to begin. read more

CRIME - it hit home
Today I received some really sad news.
A cousin's husband was killed today in a robbery at his office.
I now have a cousin that is 25 and a widow with children. Somehow that just doesn't seem right!
I now have to ask the president something, because I need answers.
So, Thabo Mbeki - would you walk without bodyguards anywhere in South Africa?
I think you should be exposed to the same dangers as the people that pay your salary and for your bodyguards' salaries.
What do you think?

Silver Mist Guest House(Kaapsehoop, Mpumalanga)
This accommodation establishment is not recommended. If you stay at this place... just make sure you don't get ripped off!
I booked 2 months ago and obviously I asked if the price quoted is per person or per room. The answer was per room. Today I had to pay per person! On top of that - the quoted price was ex VAT... Guess I am spoiled by the rest of SA that quotes you a inclusive price but tells you if its excluding.

NASHUA MOBILE SUCKS! The saga continues!
On Tuesday 7 August Donovan Neave phoned and said he will get all the details - and phone me back.
So today is Friday, I haven't received a phonecall yet.
I finally phone ...
Now these people are trying to tell me that I have to pay a cancellation fee. I will not do this. I feel that if I had received the service that I'm entitled to I wouldn't have needed to cancel the contract in the first place.
They should also have informed me prior to signing that the user interface is not 100% correct in reading the data usage.
They should also have send me statements as my contrat specified.
They should also have tried to help me sort out the queries I had 3 weeks ago... but they chose to hope that it'll go away if they ignore me.

So when I get feed back I will be sure to let you know what is going on.

The Nashua Mobile Saga Continues...
So I mailed a whole lot of people at Nashua Mobile with the link to my blog post about the service I've had from them.
5 minutes later Warren phones me. He thought it was sorted out. As obviously Nikikiwe didn't mail anyone to say that this poor paying customer is still not helped.
I explain to Warren that I have now once again not gotten help from last week and that apparently the HSDPA user interface does not display the correct data usage - this is now according to all the people I have been fortunate enough to talk to at Nashua Mobile's Customer Service 0861 number...
Warren then gets Bongani from their development/technical department to phone me. So here again I have to explain the whole story that yada yada... I only signed up to spend R250 per month but now I pay R500 + every month... Then I ask him so..."Would you be happy to pay double the amount you agreed upon?" obviously his answer was "No"... so next I say I want to cancel this contract as obviously this service is not 100% correct.
Then I again phone the 0861 number and get to speak to Tiro for 15 minutes. Again I explain my story. Obviously I ask him the same question "Would you pay double the amount you agreed upon for a service?" and yet again the answer is "NO" - surprise!
I then get put thru to the "DEACTIVATIONS" Department where I AGAIN explained my story to Donovan...and I asked him the question. Obviously. He then says he'll get back to me with a solution. I had to add that I've now had it with Nashua mobile and I am considering telkom as an option and that I'm not willing to pay penalty fees or for the modem for early cancellation - although I would be willing to give them a month's notice.
So yet again... I'm waiting to be phoned back by someone at Nashua...

Appalling service by Nashua Mobile
I will NEVER recommend anyone to sign up with Nashua Mobile. They are quick to sign you up and getting you sorted with a connection – but don’t expect aftersales service.
Complaint 1:
I didn’t receive my first statement until after the 3rd month after the call centre about this 3 times. I subsequently went to Vodaworld Nashua Mobile and finally received the first statement at mid July. (So I have 3 other missing statements still not in my posession.)
Complaint 2:
I have now for 3 weeks been trying (unsuccessfully) to sort out my billing.
I have on various occasions phoned the 0861412412 number and spoken to consultants and I kept on being placed on hold or referred to someone else.
Let me explain the issue I have.
I signed my contract with Warren Blackbeard via a online query.
I specifically asked when my billing will be calculated and I have an email response stating that it will be the 1st of every month.
Unfortunately this has not been the case. I have been billed from the 15th-16th of every month. This is an issue as my HSDPA modem interface calculates data usage from the 1st to the last day of every month. (ie. The meter clears at midnight of the last day of the month.)
Complaint 3:
Nikikiwe was the last person I spoke to – I was supposed to be cc on an email to someone else… this was last week Wednesday (1 August 2007). I’m still waiting.
Complaint 4:
I spent 1.5 hours on the phone on the 1st of August and I’m still nowhere closer to having this sorted out.

CRIME - too close to home
I live in a new "security" complex. Unfortunately it is not as secure as one might want it to be...
My neighbors directly below and next to me have both been victims of crime. The groundfloor neighbours were robbed during office hours and cleaned out completely.
My next door neighbor was robbed early this morning. He was threatened when he woke up.
Can the president please send me one of his guards that I pay for with my tax money? Since according to him crime is not that bad...

When friends turn
Today I am sad.
I have lost a good friend - because she din't know that there there are boundaries to things you do at someone's house. She also doesn't realise that if you did something wrong, you apologise.
I had poker night at my house with a few friends. What happens? 1 person gets drunk, gets sick in my bathroom - after her boyfriend arrives at my house drunk and attacking a guest... in my house.
At least the guy apologized. I understand why he did it. And because he was man enough to apologize - it's all good.
Unfortunately my girlfriend has decided that instead of taking my email to heart and accepting that she has overstepped a socially acceptable boundaries... she decided to rather attack me.
I say, if you did something wrong, apologise and get it over and done with. Yes, it will probably never be the same in the friendship, but at least you did the right thing.
